Forgiveness Day is the closing composition from the concept album "Divinities of the Earth and the Waters" which deals with the human condition, love, loss, myths and struggle. The story is set in the preindustrial and late Ottoman / Austrohungarian Balkans approaching the Balkan wars of the late 19th and early 20th century. In the piece we follow the sense of identity masked through the poklade festival. One protagonist sees himself as part of the community in various guises (dancing the kolo, being part of the poklade procession, going to war and finally singing his own funeral song).
